About Adam

ADAM SELZER works by day as an author of smart alecky young adult novels, including I Kissed a Zombie and I Liked It and The Smart Aleck's Guide to American History (both of which were published by Random House). People try to ban him now and then, which is kind of an honor in the kidlit field, and he won a Stonewall honor from the ALA for a Sparks, which he wrote under the name SJ Adams. His next novel, Play Me Backwards, will be published by Simon and Schuster in 2014.

By night, he works as a Chicago historian and tour guide, with a specialty in ghostlore, crime, and weird stuff. He built a reputation for sticking to accurate historical information (something not many people do on ghost tours) and keeping a skeptical head (probably to more of an extent than he should have - people don't always WANT to hear that certain stories have no basis in fact!).  His most recent ghost book is THE GHOSTS OF CHICAGO (Llewellyn Worldwide, September 2013), and he is now at work on a book on Abraham Lincoln ghostlore.

His main homepage is adamselzer.com

He is available for library talks, school visits, private ghost tours, and more. Here's the front and back of his 2013 business card:
